What they have in common is that they all help to shape the future of aviation. The CAA is a world-class regulator  - as confirmed by a recent independent strategic review. Besides sustaining safety standards in the UK, we provide added value throughout the industry, on an international scale. We have a vital role to play in promoting best practice regulation across Europe. We aim to be a leading partner in EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency, and via our Safety Regulation Group we have a clear sense of direction – to influence and implement Government policy towards the new European regulatory framework.

As we position ourselves for the future, we need to recruit and retain the right people and provide a culture which inspires and rewards high performance. To drive continuous improvement of aviation safety and effectiveness, we are committed to the continuous development of our people and their capabilities.

The CAA is an extremely varied organisation. We have a broad spectrum of business areas, each requiring particular skills, knowledge and experience.

The types of role for which we recruit are equally varied. And to ensure that we are drawing on the best talents available, we take equality and diversity very seriously.

We are based at two main locations, in Central London and Gatwick, but in order to work closely with the aviation industry we also have regional offices and exam centres at sites throughout England and Scotland.
