Our Mission
The CAA is a public corporation, established by Parliament in 1972. With activities including economic regulation, airspace policy, safety regulation and consumer protection, we work in partnership with the aviation industry to promote the highest standards. We enjoy a global reputation as a best practice regulator.
These are challenging and exciting times for aviation. The UK still has the largest industry in Europe but the face of aviation regulation is changing - with the development of a new Pan-European regulatory framework. As one of Europe’s leading national authorities and a prominent partner within the new framework, we are taking the lead in the creation of a world-class aviation environment.
So everyone joining the CAA today has the chance to make a real difference.
