The Role

We require a Head of International Development to join our senior management team, reporting into the Managing Director.

The Head of International Development will be responsible for directing the strategic development and implementation of CAAi business development activities in order to drive CAAi’s goals, while aligned with CAA’s strategy. You will identify opportunities bringing in new business and delivering against annual business plan targets. You will be responsible for directing and signing off bids and business cases, as well as negotiation of key contracts to achieve the best outcomes for CAAi. You will manage and mitigate risks to the business and provide regular feedback to the Managing Director and CAAi Executive Committee. You will oversee internal and external teams, ensuring your team are motivated and supported. Attendance at conferences and events, representing CAAi with senior stakeholders such as Ministers, Presidents and Directors is key in this role.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a background in consultancy, with a thorough understanding of the international aviation regulatory environment and with substantial experience of multi-disciplinary commercial projects.  Stakeholder management is key, with the ability to manage at all levels, especially at Director level.  Excellent communication and presentation skills are key with the ability to address varied audiences in international environments and across cultural boundaries. You will have strong commercial acumen, extensive experience in project management and business development including but not limited to project finance, contract negotiation and proposal writing.
