The Role

Reporting to and advising the Principal Inspector, you will take on responsibility for the regulatory oversight of the provision of air traffic services at Air Traffic Service Units within your region, working closely with the Air Navigation Service Provision industry.  The role requires extensive travel across the northern half of the UK and Northern Ireland and options for area working will be considered to suit the successful candidate’s circumstances.

You will plan and conduct a programme of audits and inspections, as well as undertaking the assessment of competence of Air Traffic Controllers and Flight Information Service Officers.

The Ideal Candidate

Able to appreciate and meet the needs of service providers, you should have a confident, approachable manner and a flair for briefing both technical and non-technical audiences.

Holding a civil ATCO licence with APS and ADI ratings, the successful candidate will have practical experience of the use of a Safety Management System in the provision of Air Traffic Services.  You will have experience in the use of risk management techniques and ideally hold an Assessor licence endorsement.
